The Shangri-La Hotel is a 5 star international resort hotel overlooking the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland. The hotel is a tropical haven for guests who come from all parts of the world to see the wonders the region has to offer. The comfort of the guests is paramount to a successful leisure business.
The continuous performance of the air conditioning and refrigeration is essential. Some years ago the hotel chose Project Air Conditioning to facilitate all aspects of the mechanical equipment routine maintenance and mechanical refurbishment work. The refurbishment work being undertaken by Project Air Conditioning is a progressive upgrade of chilled water air handling units throughout the resort. In recent times the work at the hotel has included the removal and installation of large capacity air handling units.
We submitted a proposal to replace the old units with a more efficient system. We assembled the units onsite and transited the parts up 3 floors in the hotel to the plant room. The process required the Chilled water lines to be frozen whilst we removed and installed the new units and pipe work. All units are now in service and operating correctly. In addition to the air conditioning, Project Air Conditioning delivers a round the clock breakdown alert of all the hotels cool rooms, freezers, ice machines and other refrigeration equipment.
Civil Aviation Authority refurbisment project
Cairns builder, Osborne Constructions has carried out a major refurbishment project at Cairns Airport for CASA.
Project Air Conditioning was engaged to carry out all mechanical functions.
The energy efficient Toshiba VRF equipment was installed throughout the complex which included BMS system upgrade, VAV terminals to existing duct for better zoning and temperature control of this vital multi-compartment infrastructure site.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the work Project Air Conditioning Qld has carried out on behalf of Isis at the Pier Shopping Centre site. You and your staff have conducted yourselves professionally throughout the entire project and the finished product speaks for itself, a job well done.
As a builder involved in commercial development projects the air conditioning and mechanical component can be quite significant. Timelines have to be met for all trades and I have found Project Air Conditioning to be exceptionally cooperative and responsive in their attitude towards getting the job done.
We would like to thank you and your team for the great job Project Air conditioning Qld has carried out, supplying and installing a Ducted Air Conditioning System in our home. It was refreshing to have someone that takes genuine interest in his job and provides such a high standard of service. Your expert advice helped us to make the right choice.
Cool solution for Trinity in the tropics
Trinity Anglican School is a private Anglican School located in Tropical North Queensland. The school caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12 and TAS Kewarra Beach serves students from Prep to Year 7. Because of the regions climate it is essential to quality learning for all our classrooms and teacher support areas to be air conditioned.
The school has undertaken a major building programme which includes air conditioning installations into all areas of both school campuses. Project Air Conditioning has been engaged to supply and install new equipment to all learning areas of existing buildings as well as new classroom blocks under construction.
Project Air Conditioning supports the new along with the school's existing equipment with a comprehensive routine maintenance programme.
Beachside retail between Cairns and Port Douglas
Clifton Village is a beachside neighbourhood retail centre anchored by Coles Supermarket. The centre was expanded in 2011 to accommodate a Country Target further broadening the appeal of the centre. With nearly 8000 square metres of retail space and located just off the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas the centre has a wide variety of choice with over 25 specialty retailers including CBA, Australia Post and an open coffee house in Centre Court.
Clifton Village also has 9 additional tenancies in 2 pad sites which include a service station. Project Air Conditioning has for some time now managed and maintained the sites air conditioning systems which includes re-works or new system installations in the event of tenancy changes or building refurbishment and additions.
Thank you for the supply and installation of the two bedroom air conditioning units at our family home. We are pleased to say your expert advice on the air conditioning units was appreciated. It is refreshing to have someone take a genuine interest in a job and provide such a high standard of service. I would recommend Project Air Conditioning to anyone interested in having a good air conditioning system installed.
Thanks to management and staff at Project Air Conditioning for their valuable contribution and the unprecedented access the company gave the Chinese delegation from the World Bank.
Health and Medical services supporting community growth
The population growth in far north Queensland has seen health and medical services expand in recent years to support burgeoning communities in the region.
The Omega Health and Medical Centre in Cairns requested the services of Project Air Conditioning to design an air conditioning system that would meet the needs of a busy seven day medical practice.
We installed an energy efficient multi inverter system with a focus on ducted air delivery throughout the consulting and common rooms of the complex.
Project Air Conditioning has recently completed a comprehensive air conditioning installation for a multi disciplined medical facility in Cairns.
The existing building presented us with a number of logistical challenges in making the equipment fit into the complex which comprise consulting rooms, medical procedure rooms and administration work space modules. A lack of outdoor locations to accommodate condenser plant along with ceiling space restrictions throughout meant some careful selections and installation planning by our engineering and project management team. Toshiba VRF equipment was installed utilising a hybrid of ceiling mounted cassettes and slimline ducted units to deliver the conditioned air.
Project Air Conditioning was invited to be a case study for the trainee consultants from the Peoples of Republic of China on the basis of my prior knowledge of the company. Project Air Conditioning has perfected its customer service strategy. Not only are they skilled in the technical aspects of air conditioning design and Installation but the way in which they perform their service. In my experience of studying and working with SME's in Australia and abroad, Project Air Conditioning's business processes and systems is an exemplary model of the methods required of organisations to effectively serve markets and sustain employment.
In consideration of difficulties faced in the installation, such as restricted access to work spaces, areas heavily congested with existing services and requirements for substantial builder’s works, Project Air’s efforts are commendable.
An air conditioning programme is underway at the Good Counsel school at Cairns.
Project air conditioning has been engaged to design, supply and install split systems to a wide variety of classroom, administration and ammenities blocks.
Brenton Siviour of international accounting firm McKessar Tieleman has been working with the World Bank to help small businesses in China to improve their marketing, financial and management systems and, following from that, their profits. The aim is to alleviate poverty by building small to medium business enterprises (SME). This will create employment, which leads to the creation of wealth.
The recent admission of China to the World Trade Organisation has exposed Chinese businesses to increased competition. Those businesses now say we need to know about world's best practice." Australia leads the world in business and entrepreneurial skills, so it was no surprise when the bank came to look for expertise. Mr Siviour began consulting with small businesses to improve their efficiency in 1996 with his own company, Siviour Corporate. He has continued this work for McKessar Tieleman following the merger of the companies in February 2000.
In June 2001, the World Bank invited McKessar Tieleman to analyse the needs of businesses in Sichuan Province, China. This led to Mr Siviour becoming involved in a pilot project, starting in April 2002, to help five companies develop their systems to world standards.
Consultants would be trained by McKessar Tieleman to go to Chinese companies and pass on the knowledge they had gained. This is both cost effective and has the added benefit that, while few of the Chinese business people needing help have any knowledge of English, the trainee consultants are fluent English speakers.
Project Air Conditioning was invited to be a case study for the trainee consultants on the basis of Mr Siviour's prior knowledge of the company. Mr Siviour explains: "Project Air Conditioning has perfected its customer service strategy. "Not only are they skilled in the technical aspects of air conditioning design and Installation but the way in which they perform their service.
"In my experience of studying and working with SME's in Australia and abroad, Project Air Conditioning's business processes and systems is an exemplary model of the methods required of organisations to effectively serve markets and sustain employment.
Super site - super maintenance
Popular furniture and leisure retailer, Super Amart contracts the services of Project Air Conditioning to routinely maintain its massive outlet in Cairns. As with all its customers, Project Air Conditioning diligently maintains the equipment along with accurate and up to date condition reporting fon each air conditioning unit. As Keiren O'Brien the manager of Project Air Conditioning in Cairns says, "Like all the sites in our region our client's buildings air conditioning and refrigeration equipment is a vital function of the economy here in far north Queensland. It takes a dedicated management and systemised structure along with a diligent team in the field to keep everything mechanically sound."
Group resources combine for Zoo administration air conditioning upgrade
Combining group resources the Queensland arm of the Project Air Conditioning group of companies has completed the upgrade of air conditioning in the administration facility at Perth Zoo. Toshiba VRF equipment specifications, project logistics and safety management plans were submitted to the Zoological Parks Authority. Project Air Conditioning then successfully carried out the works by removing the worn out equipment and replaced it with the latest in air conditioning technology.
Modern interior belies traditional exterior
The Barrier Reef Reef Medical Centre has recently taken possession of their newly renovated facility in Cairns. The Barrier Reef Medical Centre is one of the oldest general practices in the Cairns region. The centre is on the Queensland governments heritage list of important buildings. This type of early 19th and 20th century building is known as a 'Queenslander' and are prominent throughout the state. Project Air Conditioning worked meticulously with appointed builders, Osborne Construction to ensure the intergrity of the building was maintained. Air Conditioning equipment was installed in a discrete fashion and the modern fit out was carried out with the same care and attention.
